The Handshake

An image with such character... You can see it has weathered time and the harsh Texas weather, but not without it's blemishes. It is actually part of a headstone from the Reobeth Cemetary in Fannin County. This image was common on older headstones. It is interesting to see that someone would put this on their headstone. Possible represents their honesty or integrity? But it leaves alot to your imagination...

Sight and Sound

A trip to Laguna Beach. There was a lookout point over the ocean. True to California (especially along Laguna Beach), there was art/poetry to give you an idea of the majesty of what you were looking at. Difficult to comprehend without reading it several times (not the plaque, the art below)...

Flowers...

Ok, so I was really bored in Childress this past time.  I went out looking for flowers to take pictures of for a photo contest at work.  Didn't want it to be a total waste, so I thought that I would post some of them here.  Amazing that flowers even grow in the barren ground of West Texas.  Most people think that it is all tumbleweeds and mesquite trees.

Here is another one...

Got a little artistic with this one...

Is anybody home?

Taken right off from a Farm-to-Market road near Childress, TX. The contrast between the colors makes the picture. Unfortunately, there are lots of old abandoned homes in this area. Makes you wonder what this home looked like when it was built new...

Remember me?

Another photo taken in the cemetary in Loco, TX in 2007. A temporary grave marker that is missing the name. This is sad! Is this how we want to be remembered (or forgotten)?

Wasting Away...

This was taken in an abandoned cemetary in Loco, TX in 2007. Try to find that one on the map... Ok to visit in the Winter. Probably home to lots of wild reptiles in the Spring/Summer months. Interesting to see the stories of people's lives on the headstones.
