Wilco...

Not bad for my first medium format film image of Wilco. Caught him sneaking out the door when I was outside taking a photo of Pyper. It was almost like he was posing for me. A little grainy and contrasty because I underexposed a bit...

The arrival of Allister is upon us...

So Wilco stayed with me on Saturday and he spent quite a bit of time on top of the chair back.  This is becoming his way of either being lazy or posing (see the second image).  I like how his eyes were following me in the first image as I moved around.  As you have noticed, I haven't posted much on this blog lately.  I have been taking instant photos and scanning them and placing them on my newest blog.  This weekend seemed to be a great weekend to pick up my Leica M8 and 50mm Summicron again.  I converted these using the Kodak Porta 160NC film effect in Color Efex Pro.  I think I got some good keepers...

the end of a family portrait...

Took photos of Tyler, Maci, Pyper (and even Wilco) tonight.  Used the sunset as my primary source of light.  Set up a strobe light as an auxiliary light to fill in the shadows.  The photos went great!  With kids and dogs, they will let you know when you have reached the end of shooting the family portrait.  Pyper pulled the bow out of her hair and right after I pressed the shutter Wilco jumped out of the chair and started running around the yard.  Tyler and Maci posed for me on this one.  I love this photo!  Probably one of my favorites from tonight...

wilco needs attention...

Went to Maci and Tyler's today for lunch.  As always, when we go in the door, Sherri gets Pyper and I get Wilco.  He likes to get (and keep) your attention.   After a while, he finally gave up and went to the chair back for some rest...

christmas card pictures...

Here are the two pictures that we used for our very-limited and last-minute Christmas cards this year.  Couldn't get everyone onboard with taking a family picture.  Hope to take one soon.  Those are harder when you are the one taking the picture...

wilco is paying attention...

It is amazing what treats can do for some dogs (actually most dogs).  Found out a good way to take pictures of Wilco.  Had Maci stand beside me with a handful of treats and give him one after every picture.  It was a win-win situation.  He got the treats and I got the picture.  Converted the image to black and white with a small sepia tint in Silver Efex Pro and used Aperture to burn in a little around the edges of Wilco to make him stand out.  Just trying to get some use out of the 75mm lens.

wilco all grown up...

There once was a time when Wilco was easy to photograph.  Those days are long gone.  Now that he has more personality, I have ideas on some photographs that I want of him.  Well, all that I can say is these ideas are just a progress in work.  Along with that personality, came alot of speed and hyperactivity.  The photo below is the "it'll do for now version"...  He looks so calm and innocent.  This was truly a very short "moment in time"...

You guessed it...  More pictures with my EP2 camera.  They mostly turn out right out of the camera so it reduces my time in Elements.  Wilco seemed to just sit still for me, so I snapped a few pictures.  The first one has the artsy pinhole camera effect turned on.  The second one is in full manual mode.  Poor Sophi hasn't had a picture in a while.  I will try and take some soon.

turning the whole world upside down

I think that Maci would agree that her new dog Wilco has turned her world upside down.  This particular day he was very calm (because he wasn't feeling good at all).  He was in her arms and then he ducked his head under her arm and before you know it he was upside down.  He just stayed in this position, almost like he liked it.  Of course, I had my new camera and got the shot...

So here is a picture taken with my EP2 camera at a track meet.  This is a picture straight out of the camera that was taken at night.  I bought the camera with a very fast lens (f1.7) and without a flash, because I wanted something small and capable without any accessories.  It has an artsy black and white grainy setting.  Cool picture of Maci and her new yorkie Wilco.  Also, didn't notice it at the time, but the ring adds alot to the picture.
